Your categories
You pick where each tool belongs, and you can move it later. It then counts in every total, budget and report like any connected tool.
What you get from Custom plans
- Daily cost, prorated from the price you enter
- The category you pick, changeable later
- Cost per person for the seat holders you list, on seat plans
- Spend per team by giving the tool to a team, on fixed price plans
What it doesn't do yet
- Usage detail. Nothing is read from the vendor, so RootSpend only knows the price you enter.
- Bills that change with usage. Enter a fixed price close to your average for now.
- Cost per person on fixed price plans. A flat fee has no seats, so give the tool to a team instead.
The rest of your stack still counts
Not every tool has a cost API, and RootSpend doesn't connect to everything yet. That shouldn't leave holes in your numbers. A custom plan puts any tool into the same totals, budgets and reports as the rest.

Connect it, then remove the custom plan, so the same spend isn't counted twice.
