How the calculator works
- Cost a month: price per seat × seats you pay for, for each tool, added up.
- Unused seats: seats you pay for, minus the people who used the tool last month.
- Prices are each vendor’s public list price per seat. Yearly billing costs less per month, so pick the one you pay.
- Discounts, taxes and usage charged on top of seats (like extra AI credits) are not included.
How to find who really uses each tool
- Most AI tools show active users in their admin settings. Compare that list with the seats on your invoice.
- GitHub shows when each Copilot seat was last used. RootSpend reads this and flags seats nobody used for a month.
- For tools with no usage report, ask your team. A two-question survey is often enough to find seats nobody needs.
- Before removing a seat, check with the person. Some people use a tool only now and then.

The Saudi riyal and the UAE dirham are pegged to the US dollar, so the conversion doesn’t change. The euro and the Tunisian dinar move every day, so we use the rate of a recent date, shown under the results.
