Azure OpenAI is one of the biggest AI costs for many companies, and it hides inside the cloud invoice. RootSpend pulls it out and puts it next to the rest of your AI spend.

How it works

You register an app in Microsoft Entra ID and give it the Cost Management Reader role. RootSpend reads daily cost per service and per resource group, one month at a time. Set a tag key, like team, and the split happens per tag value instead.

Azure questions

An app registration in Microsoft Entra ID with the Cost Management Reader role on a subscription, or on a billing account to see all of them. You give RootSpend the tenant ID, client ID, a client secret and that scope.

The actual cost, which is what you're billed, before reservations are spread over time.
