Vantage is a mature cloud cost platform. Its pricing page lists more than 40 providers, from AWS and Kubernetes to Datadog, Databricks, OpenAI and Anthropic. If your biggest bill is infrastructure, it's a strong choice, and its free plan is a good place to start.
RootSpend is narrower on purpose. It's built for the question most companies now ask about AI: what are we paying for, who uses it, and what can we cut?
Where Vantage fits better
- Infrastructure heavy teams. Kubernetes, Datadog, Databricks, Vercel and dozens of other services, all in one view. RootSpend doesn't connect to most of them.
- Platform and FinOps teams who already think in cloud resources, tags and commitments.
- A cheaper first paid plan, if your tracked spend stays under $7,500 a month.
Where RootSpend fits better
- AI seats. ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot seats are often the AI cost nobody tracks. RootSpend reads GitHub Copilot seats directly and flags the ones nobody used for a month. Plans with no billing API, like ChatGPT Business or Claude Team, you enter once, and they count in every total and budget.
- Cost per team and per person, where your tools report it, so finance and managers see the same number.
- A bigger free plan, up to $5k of tracked spend a month instead of $2,500.
- French and Arabic, for teams in France, North Africa and the Gulf.

Yes. Some teams keep Vantage for infrastructure and use RootSpend for AI seats and API bills, where the questions are about people and teams rather than servers.
